Terms of Service
The rules and guidelines for using SOCYiD.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using SOCYiD ("the Service"), operated by SOCYiD Inc., a Delaware C-Corporation, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and SOCYiD Inc.
2. Description of Service
SOCYiD is a safety verification platform designed to help people meet safely in real-world settings. The Service provides identity verification tools, GPS-based location sharing, meeting coordination, secure messaging, rating systems, and safety features including SOS alerts and trusted contact notifications. SOCYiD does not provide background check services, criminal record checks, or law enforcement services.
3. Service Scope and Limitations
SOCYiD provides technology tools to assist with identity verification and meeting safety. However:
- Identity verification verifies government-issued ID authenticity, not criminal history or background
- GPS location data accuracy depends on device capabilities and environmental factors
- SOS emergency alerts supplement, but do not replace, official emergency services (911). Always contact emergency services directly in life-threatening situations
- Rating systems reflect individual user opinions and are not verified by SOCYiD
- SOCYiD does not guarantee the safety of any in-person meeting and cannot prevent harmful actions by users
4. User Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use SOCYiD. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
5. User Responsibilities
As a user of SOCYiD, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information during registration and identity verification
- Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share your account
- Use the Service in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws
- Respect other users, their privacy, and their safety
- Not use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose
- Not harass, abuse, threaten, or harm other users
- Take personal responsibility for your safety when meeting others in person
- Verify meeting locations and take appropriate safety precautions
6. Account Registration and Security
When you create an account with SOCYiD:
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
- You may not transfer your account to another person without our consent
- We reserve the right to refuse registration or cancel accounts at our discretion
7. User Content and Conduct
You are solely responsible for any content you post, upload, or share through the Service, including profile information, messages, reviews, and ratings. You agree that your content will not:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
- Contain false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Harass, threaten, defame, or abuse others
- Contain hate speech, discriminatory content, or incitement to violence
- Include explicit sexual content or solicitation
- Spread malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Impersonate another person or entity
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms and to suspend or terminate accounts of repeat violators.
8. Intellectual Property Rights
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by SOCYiD Inc. and protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
User Content License
By posting content to the Service, you grant SOCYiD Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. You retain ownership of your content.
Trademarks
SOCYiD, the SOCYiD logo, and related marks are trademarks of SOCYiD Inc. You may not use these marks without our prior written consent.
9. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Service to:
- Engage in any unlawful activity or promote illegal activities
- Stalk, harass, or harm another person
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with a person or entity
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or any other systems or networks
- Use any automated system, including robots or scrapers, to access the Service
- Transmit any viruses, worms, defects, or other items of a destructive nature
- Collect or store personal data about other users without their consent
- Use the Service for commercial purposes without our authorization
10. Service Modifications and Availability
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts or all of the Service without notice or liability.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or that it will be error-free. We are not liable for any Service interruptions, including but not limited to system failures or maintenance.
11. Payment Terms
Currently, SOCYiD is offered free of charge to end users. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future:
- Pricing will be clearly disclosed before purchase
- Payments will be processed securely through third-party payment processors
- Refund policies will be specified at the time of purchase
- You are responsible for all applicable taxes
- We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice to users
12. Termination
Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at SOCYiDsupport@socyid.com or using the account deletion feature in the app settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
Termination by Us
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Breach of these Terms of Service
- Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
- Request by law enforcement or government agencies
- Extended period of account inactivity
- Technical or security concerns
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your profile information will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Some data may be retained for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or legitimate business purposes as permitted by law.
13. Disclaimers and Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SOCYiD Inc. disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
- Any guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- Any guarantee of the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information obtained through the Service
- Any guarantee regarding the conduct or identity verification status of other users
- Any guarantee of safety in real-world meetings arranged through the Service
Identity verification does not constitute a background check. We do not verify criminal history, and verified status does not guarantee safety or trustworthiness. You assume all risks associated with meeting other users in person.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SOCYiD INC., ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
- Personal injury or property damage resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data
- Statements or conduct of any third party on the Service
- Any harm arising from in-person meetings arranged through the Service
Our total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SOCYiD Inc., its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your violation of these Terms of Service
- Your use or misuse of the Service
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Your content or conduct on the Service
- Your in-person meetings with other users
16. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
If you have a dispute with us, you agree to first contact us at SOCYiDsupport@socyid.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will attempt to resolve the dispute through good faith negotiations within 60 days.
Binding Arbitration
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules. The arbitration shall be conducted in Delaware, unless otherwise agreed.
Class Action Waiver
You agree that any arbitration or proceeding shall be limited to the dispute between you and SOCYiD Inc. individually. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you waive your right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
Exceptions
Either party may bring a lawsuit solely for injunctive relief to stop unauthorized use or abuse of the Service or infringement of intellectual property rights without first engaging in arbitration or the informal dispute resolution process.
17. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and SOCYiD Inc. regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
