Know Who You're Meeting

Identity verification + social reputation from real meetups. Two layers of trust for dating, campus meetups, and marketplace connections.

General Meeting Safety

Protect Your Digital Privacy
  • Use Your SOCYiD ID instead of sharing phone numbers or email addresses
  • Never give out your social media handles until you've met and trust someone
  • Use SOCYiD messaging to keep your personal contact information private
  • Your SOCYiD ID hides your profile when scheduling—control what others see
Always Meet in Public
  • Choose well-lit, populated locations for first meetings
  • Avoid isolated areas or private residences
  • Consider meeting at a police station parking lot for high-value transactions
Verify Before You Meet
  • Use SOCYiD to confirm the other person's identity
  • Check their verification badges and profile completeness
  • Look for reviews or ratings from previous interactions
Share Your Plans

  • Add them as an emergency contact in SOCYiD
  • Check in with them before and after the meeting
Trust Your Instincts
  • If something feels wrong, leave immediately
  • Don't feel obligated to continue if you're uncomfortable
  • Use the optional SOCYiD panic button if you feel threatened
Use GPS Verification (Optional)
  • Enable location services for proximity confirmation if you choose
  • Verify both parties are at the agreed location with consent-based check-ins
  • GPS sharing is opt-in and time-limited—never continuous tracking
Protect Your Information
  • Don't share personal details like your home address
  • Use SOCYiD's secure messaging instead of personal phone numbers
  • Be cautious about sharing financial information

Verifying Home Service Providers

When contractors, plumbers, electricians, or other service providers come to your home, use these tips to verify their identity and stay safe.

Verify Enterprise QR Codes
  • Always scan the employee's QR code before allowing entry to your home
  • Verify the employee photo matches the person at your door
  • Check their company name and employee status on the verification page
  • Look for the verified badge and background check status
Check Employee Credentials
  • Confirm the employee's full name and employee ID match what you were told
  • Review their customer rating and past service history
  • Verify the company has an active SOCYiD Enterprise account
  • Take note of the employee's UID (alphanumeric code) for your records
During the Service Visit
  • The employee should check in using GPS when they arrive—verify this happened
  • Don't hesitate to ask for re-verification if you feel uncomfortable
  • Keep the verification page open on your phone for reference
  • Use SOCYiD's concern button if anything feels wrong during the visit
After the Visit
  • Rate your experience honestly to help other customers
  • Send praise if the employee provided excellent service
  • Report concerns immediately if you experienced any issues
  • Your feedback helps the company maintain quality and safety standards
